The Black horse is a 1950's build estate pub about 1 mile from the centre of Thornbury a thriving and well populated market town just north of Bristol , and across the River Severn from Chepstow. The pub is in excellent condition benefitting from the care of the current publicans who have built a great community site. The pub is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop community trade, introduce a food offer and live and work just outside a lovely market town.
The pub is in great order, having benefitted from a recent refurbishment to the front bar, laid out for eating and drinking. The front bar, which is the quieter lounge area can accommodate around 30 covers across comfortable fixed and loose seating. The rear bar can seat approximately 40 covers and has space for two pool tables, whilst the function room can also seat 40 customers and is ideal for small gatherings and events. Entertainment is a significant part of what the Black Horse has to offer, with singers, groups, and open mic. nights regularly on the bill.
The pub has benefitted from external decoration in recent years, which included new signage and an updated patio beer garden. At the front of the pub is a patio area, which is partially covered, with barrel style tables and chairs to seat 20 customers. There are a further two large picnic style benches to either side with space for more if required. At the back of the car park is a small lawn beer garden with four picnic style benches. The car park is of a good size, with spaces either side of the pub to accommodate around 20 vehicles.
