Nestled in the heart of Staffordshire, Lichfield is a city that is steeped in heritage. The George and Dragon is one of the oldest pubs in Lichfield built in 1818, with the biggest garden that boasts outstanding views of the cathedral. The garden is also a site of historical significance as the site where Prince Rupert laid siege to the Parliamentarians during the English Civil War.
The site itself is a cosy, traditional two-room pub that has an excellent reputation for its well-kept beers. Upon entering the George & Dragon to the left you will find the lounge with a mixture of fixed and loose seating, to the right is the bar which boasts an open fire, again with fixed and loose seating and TVs. Both the bar and lounge are serviced by a one-through bar.
Between the bar and lounge is a corridor that leads to the rear courtyard which has approx. six benches which then lead onto the pub's beautiful beer garden, there is car parking for approximately 10 vehicles to the rear of the site.
The private accommodation consists of three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom. The accommodation can be accessed via the pub and also has its own separate/private access.

The George and Dragon is home to a darts team and Dominoes is also popular with the loyal regulars.
The new licensee at the George and Dragon will have to embrace the history of the site and its importance in the history of Lichfield as well as being a real ale connoisseur.
