Property details
The Dewdrop is a double-fronted detached building that sits on the busy main road through Hathern a small urban area with a Village feel. The pub is well known in the area and is surrounded by a mix of houses, retail and industrial premises. The pub was built during the early part of the last century and has a wealth of original features both inside and out. Hathern is a large village and civil parish in the Charnwood district of Leicestershire, England. The village itself is located in the north of the district, and is just north of Loughborough, accessed via the A6. There are great close links to Leicester, Nottingham, and Derby either by 24-hour bus service or by easy access to the M1 and rail services. East Midlands Airport is also only a 15-minute drive away.
There are two bars - one main lounge-type with a smaller “snug” both served by one core service area. There is a rear room used for darts, and could at a push be used for a pool table.
Externally there is a rear courtyard that is enclosed by a high red brick wall with a covered smoking area, and several parking spaces to the front. Both ladies and gents toilets are still in their original 1920s fittings and tiles and are in very good condition. The pub as expected has traditional-style decor with both fixed and loose seating. The bar has been mentioned by CAMRA as of historical interest.
The private Accommodation consists of a good-sized flat with three bedrooms, a bathroom and a lounge to the rear.

The Pub currently offers a good selection of cask ales and traditional beers, catering for all ages. There is a small homecooked offering from the current tenants which has been well received and sound be continued. The pub is very well supported by the local community, there is a darts team that plays regularly at both home and away events. There are monthly live acoustic acts and regular board game times. There is an opportunity to introduce Sky & BT sports bringing an additional income stream to the business.
This is a great pub that needs a great operator with a passion to continue to offer a good range of cask ales and the ability to launch a traditional homecooked food offer. This is a well-established business that is integrated within the local community and this should be continued.
