The Thistle currently trades as an 80/20 split towards food. The menu on offer is your traditional ‘good, pub grub’ Aside from people visiting for food, the Thistle is very much a community pub. There is a bowling green nearby, which the Thistle has its own team and the Thistle regularly provides live music. The locals also utilise the pub delivery service on Just Eat. As well as its locals the pub gains trade from travellers into Cumnock.
The landlords are looking for an experienced food operator, who knows their way around the kitchen and who’s not afraid to get involved in Community commitments. The Thistle Inn has won best garden for several years so the new operator would need to be able to maintain the gardens.
