Property details
The Horseshoe is located in the affluent, attractive, and desirable village of Lavendon, on the main road through the village (A428). Lavendon is located within easy reach of Olney, Milton Keynes, Bedford, and Northampton in a semi-rural position.
The site has undergone a full internal and external refurbishment over the last 18 months and so is in excellent decorative order.
This is an attractive, detached two-storey traditional public house with two interlinking trade areas each with its own servery comprising a main bar and a more formal dining area to the left-hand side. To the rear of the pub, there is a good-sized commercial kitchen.
Car parking is provided immediately to the front of the property and the pub benefits from a nice, decked area that leads out into the large, enclosed beer garden with a children’s play area. Also included is a detached brick outbuilding used for general storage.
The private accommodation is located on the first floor and consists of three double bedrooms, a living room, and a private bathroom.

Trading style
The Horseshoe trades as a traditional village Inn with a good reputation for good quality pub food. The pub is the perfect example of a real village community-style operation, and the landlords want all existing and potential customers to feel part of what is a busy, thriving gem of the community and to enjoy the pub for all occasions. The pub will need to trade with a successful rhythm of the week including live sports, pub teams and entertainment, and a good food menu.
The successful applicant(s) will be outgoing, lively, personable, enthusiastic, and driven and will be as passionate as the landlords are about creating something special within the community. They will need a proven track record in operating successful community or high street pubs and running events, utilising social media, maximising footfall for sporting events, booking live artists/bands, creating promotional/marketing plans, developing a good food offering and establishing a strong position within the community all whilst developing/leading a great in-house team.
A personal licence is required alongside exceptional standards and some experience with real ale, current trends (gin, craft ale, lager, wine,s and cider,) and organising events such as family fun days and beer/cider festivals.
