Characterful detached pub located in a pleasant suburban area, next to the local train station. The pub boasts a cosy interior, with traditional features, such as wood floors and three open-feature fireplaces. Externally it benefits from a large beer garden, which has a grass area with bench seating and trees and then a large patio, where the current publican has completed a capital investment to build a pergola with a slat roof, lighting and heating which can be used to view the bands but also to be hired out as an outside function space. There is a car park for 10 cars, with free on-road parking also available. The pub has been recently decorated throughout, retaining and enhancing the original character the pub is well known for. Currently, the pub trades as a live music venue and the decor reflects this, but there is a traditional snug area with sofas and paintings. The pub benefited from ex-decss and new signage two years ago.
