Property details
The Barford Inn is prominently situated on the busy A30 which links the historic city of Salisbury, 5 miles to the east, and the popular market town of Shaftesbury. The picturesque village of Barford St. Martin sits within the West Wiltshire Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offers great opportunities for walking and cycling. Although the village is small, with a population of approximately 600, it is a vibrant area with an active population, and the pub is a key meeting point.
This pub is at the heart of its community. It is a traditional coaching inn serving local guests and welcoming visitors attracted by its proximity to Salisbury and the world-famous Stonehenge, which is a short drive away.
On entering through the archway to the courtyard, the main entrance leads directly into the bar. The more traditional area of the pub feels atmospheric and historic, with dark wood paneling and large inglenook fireplaces. Currently darts and pool can be played in this area, although this could be converted to additional dining. The newer dining section is to the left of the entrance and feels light and airy. The toilets are adjacent to the trading areas and are immaculate, and the well-equipped kitchen and cellar are conveniently located behind the bar.
The four letting rooms are in a separate annex accessed through the archway, and there is a large enclosed grassed garden adjacent to the car park. There is additional seating at the front of the pub and in the courtyard, which also has a large covered area.
The private accommodation is in immaculate condition and is accessed via the lobby at the front entrance. It is effectively split into two main areas; the first comprises a large double bedroom, two single bedrooms, an office, and a bathroom/WC. The second area comprises a large, well-fitted kitchen/diner, bathroom/WC, and double bedroom. One bedroom can be used as a separate lounge if preferred.
