The Wheatsheaf is a stunningly presented historic pub, in a prime high street location in Midhurst, in the heart of the South Downs. This pub enjoys a busy regular trade in an area which is buzzing with tourists throughout the year. The pub was extensively refurbished in 2019, so is in excellent condition throughout and has extensive live-in accommodation.

The Wheatsheaf is a historic building dating back to 1621 which incorporates part of an old Squire’s Chapel of the Catholic Church; many features of which can be seen throughout the pub. The pub had extensive investment in 2019, so is presented in great condition both internall and externally, and is fitted out to an exceptional level in terms of F&F, both in trading areas and back of house. The three main trading areas are all served by a stunning island bar and can all be zoned to offer differing styles. The main bar is traditional in nature with a stone floor, feature fireplace and an eclectic mix of furniture. There is a more relaxed area laid out with fixed seating and wooden floors, and then a mixed area for watching sports and for vertical sociable drinking.  The Chapel Room is accessed from this social area and offers a  standalone room, perfect for private meetings or events, with a capacity of up to 60 guests. Toilets are easily accessed from the main bar, and the kitchen and cellar both offer well equipped and serviceable areas, and are also sited on the ground floor for easy access.

Towards the rear of the pub is a spacious courtyard with 9 large tables, heat, light and an opportunity for either pool or external TVs in a covered outbuilding. 

As befits a property going back to the 16th Century, the private accommodation at the Wheatsheaf is quirky and full of character. The entrance benefits from being separate to the pub  and comprises of a single floor with four large bedrooms, a lounge/dining room, separate kitchen and bathroom/wc and several storage cupboards throughout.
